Living Hope
Living Hope serves a community where many children arrive at school hungry, where parents face cyclical unemployment, and where hope can feel like a luxury. The organisation addresses immediate need—meal programmes, school support, basic healthcare—while building toward longer-term change. In Cape Town's poorest neighbourhoods, having a place where children know they'll be fed, where their school performance matters to someone, and where they see adults invested in their future reshapes what's possible. Living Hope coordinates across services: connecting families with social grants, supporting caregivers through job training, ensuring children stay in school. The work recognises that poverty isn't a single problem but a network of interrelated challenges—food security, education access, health, dignity. For communities where the majority of young people have limited economic prospects, an organisation providing practical daily support while opening pathways to better circumstances becomes woven into how people survive and imagine futures.
